INTERLINGUAL TRANSLATION PROJECT

Rinpoche is exploring this project, based on his Proem paper, as a way to create a hermeneutic circle to further the precision, fluidity, and beauty of translations of Buddha dharma related texts (especially from Tibetan to English and English to Tibetan).

OPEN CALL FOR TRANSLATORS

We are looking at a person or persons who would be interested in translating English to Tibetan and Spanish to English and Spanish to Tibetan. We are developing a methodology for inter lingual translations. We wish to begin with Rinpoche’ s three categories of truth chart. This chart is based on yogacara epistemology. Rinpoche has found it very useful for deconstructing Dharma teachings and college and university comparative philosophy and religion courses. We will then progress to translating short excerpts from Western philosophers and theologians texts. For example Heraclitus’ fragment, “Never the same stream,” Plato’s “Khora” vis-a-vis shunyata, Aristotle’s hypokeimenon, David Hume's “on religion,” and Martin Heidegger’s “thinking the beginning.”
