An Amazon Review:
The WindHorse Ensemble’s CD "Songs in the 10 Directions"

The great thing about this CD is the Music! The hype in the posted description of musicians might lead one to let this CD go, without listening. Don't do it. There is a mastery of time modes, musical integrity, and motion of sound -- the CD has the powers of a trance album, the lyrics of a prayer for universal enlightenment, while being rigourous in repesenting the classical music traditions of many nations, the lands one would travel in travelling from ancient Greece through the lands of Central Asia, and arriving in the Indian subcontinent. The CD is gentle on the ear, yet draws one into it's unique sound. The timing patterns along with the virtuouso musicianship make it an album for the musician's musician. There is nothing else quite like it, but if one were to compare it with the work of Yo-Yo Ma it might be said that the Windhorse Ensemble is to Folk-Rock what Ma is to Classical. Makes good background music, takes you through a fantastic journey when you turn it loud and get inside of it. It's worth the money.
